ROMA (GORILASPORT) AS Roma Coach Eusebio di Francesco said he’ll continue to use Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri even during negotiations with Chelsea. He said that before his team meet Sampdoria on Sunday.

“I’ll have to evaluate whether Daniele de Rossi is at our disposal, but in any case he’d be unlikely to start,” said the coach in his Press conference. “Diego Perotti and Stephan el Shaarawy are both almost certainly called up and one of the two will be in the starting XI. Maxime Gonalons cannot recover in time for this match.”

Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign both Emerson and Dzeko for a combined €50m plus €6m in bonuses. “I have total freedom to make my choices, regardless of the negotiations taking place, which you all know better than me. Dzeko and Emerson are two players who are at my disposal for this game and I will continue to use them when and if I feel it right to do so.”

Di Francesco was asked if he expected Roma to sell two such big players in the January transfer window, specifically last year’s Capocannoniere Dzeko. “Objectively, I don’t know what the financial situation is. I only came to know of this possibility recently. We do this job and have to be ready for more or less anything.

“It hasn’t happened yet. I saw great support from the crowd in the Curva and I hope to see the same tomorrow night. It’s only normal to assume that if something like this were to go through, it’d be dictated by Financial Fair Play issues,” Di Francesco said. “I asked the club to sign Leo Messi, but they told me it wasn’t possible… Look, it’s not as if I or Roma want to lose our most important players. If someone does go, it’s evidently not so we can just spend all the money we bring in.”

“I am not the one who should answer these questions, it’s down to the director. All I can say is that I have Dzeko at my disposal and I hope he remains for the rest of the season,” he told to FootballItalia. “As for anything else, I do my job and try to do it the best I can. There are some clear things that have been said to me, so either you accept those or you go home. I chose to be the Coach of Roma, even during difficult times.” EDOY
